A blog after a decade I guess. Actually, I have been a bit busy with my career.
Without wasting more words let’s begin with the blog.
As the title suggests, I have used an old costume and transform it into a new version of the dress. I have used my pretty old yellow Anarkali suit which has black and red embroidery on the blouse region with a basic yellow net frill from beneath. I bought this during my school time most probably in 12th standard for some school function. I’d hardly worn it since then, and of course, it is out of style now. I got this idea in my mind from an outfit worn by Mithila Parker, an Indian actress, in one of her Instagram posts. Instantly, I had it on my mind and had to convince my mom for the same. You can see my Anarkali suit below.

I asked my tailor to cut the net region of the Anarkali suit and make it into a skirt/Lehenga. He tried to convince me to not destroy my dress, but I had it in my mind, nothing could stop it from happening, not even my mom. I asked him to save the above region as well and fit it according to a blouse fit. I can use it with something else later. He agreed.
So, my skirt was ready and I already had the dupatta of the Anarkali. The only thing left was the blouse. I had a crop top from Ewa young, an Instagram store, which I bought for my college farewell to wear as a blouse with a saree. It is a black-colored basic halter neck blouse. I wore this blouse with the new stitched skirt and dupatta of the Anarkali suit and paired it with golden crystal Jhumki/earrings and black heels. You can see the complete look below. I wore it for an auspicious occasion, Diwali. Certainly, I got a lot of compliments.

I hope this blog helped you in some way. You might as well have few old suits or anarkalis kept in your wardrobe since forever. Go, try and make a waste outfit into something interesting, beautiful, and trendy at the same time.

P.S.: The same colored lehenga can also be styled in a monochromatic sense, i.e., the same colored blouse with the same colored skirt/lehenga, it will also give a chic look. Check out the image below for some idea.
